| Introduction
Since its formation in January 1984, Rochford Probus Club has proved highly popular, and this success has depended on its membership and those who serve on the committee under the President. Officers of the committee and President are elected annually by the membership at the Annual General Meeting in March. |
| History
The inaugural meeting of the Club was on January 11th 1984. |
| Membership
The Club now has a membership of nearly 40 members, which is approximately the same as when it was founded. The annual subscription, due at the beginning of each calendar year, is currently £15. |
| Purpose
The purpose of the club is to provide a friendly atmosphere for members with a lifetime of experience in the professional and business world, to meet and exchange views and also to gain an insight into the work of other professionals in their respective fields. The club is principally a luncheon club and does not directly participate in any kind of fund raising activities for Charity. |
| Meetings
Monthly lunch meetings take place on the second Wednesday of each month. The venue is Saxon Hall, situated in Southend-on-Sea, Essex. |
| ||
Each meeting starts at 12.00 for 12.30, and comprises of a short introduction by the President, including any Club business. Followed by a three course lunch, and a presentation by a guest speaker. | ||
| Wives & Partners
Wives and partners contribute greatly to the success of the club. They join the members for the Christmas and June lunches. |
| Interested in
joining?
The club is always keen to attract new members. In the first instance, potential members are welcome to come along to one of the monthly meetings, to meet with the members and learn more about the clubs activities.
